Health Nexus invited me to speak to parents on “Setting Up a Positive Learning Environment at Home.” With the unexpected closure of schools, many parents working from home, out of work or being essential workers, parents may feel completely disempowered, like they have no control. As a Teacher Trainer in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), I speak about the many challenges and provide some suggestions. I speak about the following:

  • Taking care of your own emotions

  • How children learn

  • Setting up a positive learning environment

  • Meeting children’s basic needs

  • Learning through the arts

  • Meeting emotional needs

Feel free to reach out with your questions. I am here to support you.

More lessons are coming.

Enjoy!
